About us
Patricia Jung - Founder and owner of Dog AFFAIR
My childhood dream of having my own dog had to wait at first. I was allowed to take care of several other animals, but the dog dream always remained. My professional life consisted of caring for and accompanying children and their families in hospital, which made keeping a dog impossible for me.
Finally Adrian came into my life, which allowed us to fulfill our common dream of having our own dog. Then automatically came the need to constantly educate myself - the training as an animal caregiver FBA was in this context the first step into the future with dogs. It soon became clear to me that looking after and training dogs were closely related - so I decided to complete the puppy and young dog trainer course.
My main approach for a harmonious coexistence in the pack is continuity, bonding and dog appropriate workload. Every day I implement the approach of cognitive and physical workload coupled with a lot of fun in dealing with dogs.
Adrian Blenke- Founder and owner of Dog Affair
I became interested in dogs at a very early age: I grew up in the beautiful Sihltal with Jaira, a Dalmatian. Years later I learned how to lead a pack in a business psychology degree.
After that I worked as a consultant for five years and realized that interacting with dogs is more important to me than profits and losses. For this reason I decided to take the FBA animal caregiver training, which enables me to offer professional services in this field. In addition to being an FBA animal caregiver, I am also a cynology instructor, i.e. dog trainer.
For me the credo is "structure and fun". Dogs need structure and socialization in the pack, so that a harmonious living together with a lot of fun in the dog-human team is possible.
Claudia - Heart person and Dog Carer
For as long as I can remember, animals have been loyal companions and friends in my life. I have always had my own pets, such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds. I pursued my passion for dogs from an early age by always taking the neighbor's dogs for walks, as I wasn't allowed to have a dog of my own. As a young adult, I then fulfilled my dream and welcomed two dogs (a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and an Irish Setter) into my life.
Several years and four wonderful children later, I lived and worked for four years as a shepherdess on a biodynamic farm in England, where I gained much valuable dog behavior experience.
Back in Switzerland, I worked in a dog rescue center, where I also completed the FBA animal care training. Then briefly as a dog groomer and now here at Dog Affair as a dog carer. The passion for animals is enormous and I enjoy learning a lot of new things from Patricia and Adrian, who have a very sound specialised knowledge.
Samira - animal keeper with passion & camera
My fascination and love for animals ranges from the tiniest beetle to majestic blue whales. I took my first steps into the world of dogs as a child, side by side with my grandmother in dog training and on our wonderful, lively walks in the woods. Dogs have always been family.
After my A-levels, I packed my rucksack and travelled around the world for over 10 years. As a diving instructor, I was able to play an active role in animal welfare. In the Philippines, I worked with local vets and dive shops on a project close to my heart to protect street dogs and cats. In Egypt, I combined my passion for photography with my great love for sharks and collected data for a shark researcher. With over 3000 dives and months in the African desert, I was able to observe many animals in their natural habitat and study their communication. These experiences showed me how unique the connection between humans and dogs is. For me, mutual understanding and trust are the basis of a wonderful dog-human relationship.
I returned to Switzerland in 2020, completed my training as a qualified animal carer with the Zurich Animal Welfare Association and became the mother of an adorable daughter. Now I'm looking forward to dedicating myself entirely to dogs together with Patricia and Adrian, two equally dog-loving people who bring a lot of expertise and passion to the table - all in the spirit of ‘Creating Happy Moments’ for four- and two-legged friends!
Gabriela - dog trainer with years of experience
After a fantastic family time with our three wonderful children and 22 years as a private customer advisor at Swiss banks, I realised my dream and turned my hobby into my profession. Today I get to do what I love every day: working with people, working with dogs and teaching.
My experience with dogs goes back over 45 years. As a child, I grew up with ‘Asso’, our family dog, who showed me how deep the connection with dogs can be. My first dog of my own - ‘Tiny’, an adorable little rascal - taught me many valuable lessons. Currently, my mongrel ‘Lucky’ and two Australian Shepherds ‘Dolce’ and ‘Stella’ accompany me through life. Each of my eight dogs so far has taught me many things and given me memories that always bring a smile to my face.
As a dog trainer, it is important to me to see people and dogs as a unit - with all their needs and feelings in constant interaction. For me, the best training means giving dogs coping strategies for a relaxed life, so that humans and dogs understand each other better, learn together and are safe on the road.
I am delighted to accompany you and your furry friend on this journey alongside Patricia and Adrian and to share with you what dogs give us: trust, joy and unconditional affection.
Joanna - groomer with body and soul
Originally raised in Poland, my passion for dogs has been enormous since I was little. After graduating with a master's degree in zoo engineering and a postgraduate degree in marketing, my first professional steps took me to the USA. I then emigrated to New Zealand, where I worked as an agricultural assistant on a farm.
In 2016, I emigrated to Germany, where I completed my training as a dog groomer and ran a grooming salon in Berlin. With all my experience, I then opened my own grooming salon in Switzerland, in Safenwil to be precise.
Since then, I have attended and led many workshops and have continued to develop my skills - because being a groomer is a profession that requires constant further training in order to meet the requirements of customers.
In my spare time I like to spend a lot of time with my own dog, an Alaskan Malamute called Django.
I am very grateful to be able to pursue my passion on a daily basis and to be part of a company like Dog Affair.
Christine - Mobile and stationary groomer
Dogs and animals are my passion and are part of our family and as a proud dog mum, I have always been able to groom my dog myself over the years, which I really enjoyed. That's why I completed school as a dog hairdresser in 2023 so that I can now do what my heart beats for every day. With a lot of passion, love, and commitment, I care for your four-legged friend so that he feels comfortable and looks great at the end of the process.
Our Vision
In the last five years a lot has happened with us. We have visited various dog schools without having a dog of our own in order to get to know as many different philosophies as possible. We have visited breeders and competitions, learned a lot about training structure, training and socialization and we have added our beloved Csomo to our family.
For us it was clear: we want to take care of a great, furry pack all day long and offer an all-in-one service for dogs and their families.
By observing, getting to know and dealing with many different trainers, supervisors and methods, we were able to create and apply our own way of dealing with dogs. Our top priority is the well-being of each four-legged friend and belonging two-legged individual. We have completed the puppytrainer-, dogtrainer-, and animal caregiver course certified by the veterinary office. For us, continuous development is part of our lifes.
Our motivation: Your family life with dog should become even more beautiful and suitable for everyday life by offering our all-in-one service.
If you have any questions about us, our training methods or our offer, please feel free to contact us at any time via contact@dogaffair.ch. We look forward to meeting your fur friend and you personally.
